This host feedback really nails it.
“What a wonderful night it was on Sunday, as [the artist] brought beautiful music to a beautiful evening and we enjoyed the best that life has to offer. Friends, art, and food combined for an experience we'll never forget. The [artist] was so grateful for the warm and enthusiastic reception from the crowd.”
As I’ve told Fran many times….what drives me to help build the house concert community is this sobering realization: there will be millions of people who will pass through this earthly experience without ever having been invited to a house concert. And it feels to me like there’s just something fundamentally wrong with that truth. Can you imagine going through your life without knowing how it feels to join friends in someone’s home for a concert? What we so passionately love about house concerts truly is among the best things that life has to offer, and no one should miss it.
When I have the inevitable moments where I run into a wall in my hosting efforts or my work with the site, I pause and remember all this. And I re-commit to my seriously naïve and seriously genuine desire to help bring at least one house concert experience to everyone on this planet. I live with this desire because we as music givers and artists offer this amazing--sometimes life-changing--gift to our fellow man each time we sponsor a house concert.
So thank you, all of you, for being a part of this. It is so special.
